Lemonade

24 lemons, white pith removed (the pith is bitter, when peeling the lemon, be sure to get all the pith off)
6 cups water
18 cups crushed ice
3 cups simple syrup, recipe follows

Simple Syrup
1 cup water
2 ½ cups sugar

Methods/steps


Place lemons, simple syrup, and water in a blender with top on and blend at medium speed until lemons are pureed this will take a few times with the amount of lemons).
Add ½ of the ice and blend on high until “Slushed”.
Transfer to a gallon thermos and add remaining ice Serve in tall plastic cups and be sure to provide straws.
Simple syrup: Place sugar and water in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil.
Boil for five minutes and transfer to a container to cool.
